"I laugh a lot in horror films. If I'm scared of a horror film, I try to think about what's scaring me... particularly, if it's a bad movie, but something they're doing still works. It's the same way I look at comedy. I've always had an intellectual view of comedy, and what makes people laugh, and how it works." - Jason Reitman

Intro

Mickey, the masked mouse murderer from The Mousetrap.

Bad CGI Gator, exactly what it sounds like from Bad CGI Gator.

In 2003, cinema was forever changed when The Room was released to the world. At first people rejected it, calling it the worst movie, but later everyone would realize. The movie wasn’t just bad, it was perfectly bad. Tommy Wisseau had unintentionally made a movie that was so bad, that it was good. Overtime, other “bad” movies would attempt to chase this phenomena, embracing their corniness and being great movies as long as you turn off your brain while watching. Many of these movies would have crazy concepts, but two stood out. Two slashers that would have their killers both originate from having normal beings be mutated by electricity. But which one is better? Which one would win in a fight? Well, read and find out!

Before we start

Both are quite straightforward with what material we’ll be using for both of them. Mickey will be everything from his movie, The Mousetrap,  and the Mickey vs Winne - Who Would Win? short film. Bad CGI Gator will be getting everything from his short film, Bad CGI Gator.

Background

Mickey

Tim was once a normal man. Working a day to day job at the local amusement park, hanging out with his coworkers, all the good stuff. But that all changed one day when Tim watched Steamboat Willie on a projector. He would accidentally be shocked while watching the short and then would seemingly be possessed by the spirits of Mickey Mouse himself. Tim, now referred to as Mickey, would don a mouse mask and kill anyone he comes across. He would lock all the exits of the amusement park and proceed to kill a group of teenagers who were partying in the park that night. Before Mickey could be defeated by the teenagers, he would teleport away, coming back for a few seconds to kill a teenager with a sword he found, leaving his victims traumatized.

Bad CGI Gator

In the Floridian wilds, there existed an alligator. Not a big one mind you, but a small, young gator. The gator would always be laughed at by people, for going after people clearly out of his league. All of this would make the gator build more and more resentment towards people. Eventually a group of TikTokers would arrive in the lodge near the gator’s lake and would throw their computers in there as part of a Tik Tok trend. The tiny lizard would get shocked by a computer, mutating and becoming the Bad CGI Gator! A massive alligator, who’s able to use his poorly rendered body to take a bite out of those annoying teenagers. He would manage to kill most of them, with only two escaping him thanks to their truck. But everything would come crashing down when he would eat a Bluetooth speaker, allowing him to grow to giant size before shrinking to his original size within seconds. Now stuck as he was before, the gator reminisced of his rampage that night, forced to wait till some other idiot threw another computer into the lake, but like that’ll ever happen… Oh what am I kidding, it’s Florida, it’s going to happen in less than a day.

Experience and Skill

Mickey

Despite originally being a normal guy, Mickey is quite skilled at killing. Moments after becoming possessed, Mickey already plotted ways to trap the teens, pick them off one by one, and cover his tracks. He’s also no slouch when it comes to combat, being able to fight on equal footing with a killer who resembles Winnie the Poohniverse movies (it is worth noting that it’s not the exact same character so no scaling for Mickey). In this fight, Mickey showed he was adept in h2h and knew how to turn the tide of the battle whenever his opponent starts pressuring him.

Bad CGI Gator

Despite being a threatening monster, the Bad CGI Gator ain’t that much in the experience and skill department. His experience with combat is very limited, at best being him avoiding easily telegraphed attacks from a drunk guy with a katana. His main attack strategy is predictable, him mostly trying to bite the limbs of his prey, something that alligators commonly do in the wild. The Bad CGI Gator also isn’t that intelligent, mostly being a wild animal. There was one instance of him seemingly being smart enough to ring the doorbell, but this was a one-off gag that easily could’ve been caused by him leaning against the door.

Arsenal

Mickey

Chain

Mickey used this chain to lock the exit doors so that the teenagers couldn’t escape him. He could theoretically use this as a weapon and whip his enemies with it.

Knife

Mickey’s signature weapon, this knife allows him to cut, slash and stab anyone he comes across.

Hockey Stick

After being seemingly jumped by a hockey team, Mickey was able to take possession of a hockey stick. He was able to use this to beat up the rest of the hockey team by himself.

Monkey Wrench

One of the weapons Mickey picked up during his killing spree is the monkey wrench. Mickey uses this wrench as a bludgeoning tool, proving to be quite effective. He also is known to carry this around with him at all times, as shown in the Winnie the Pooh fight.

Handsaw

Mickey was able to use a handsaw to decapitate Winnie the Pooh when their fight ended.

Sword

Mickey somehow got possession of a medieval-style sword that he used to behead a lady in the end of the movie. This is able to easily cut through a person’s neck and Mickey appears to be skilled enough to wield it.

Bad CGI Gator

Teeth

Given that he’s an alligator, the Bad CGI Gator possesses a full set of teeth. These allow him to rip and tear his prey.

Tail

Bad CGI alligator also processes a large tail that he’s used to swipe at his victims before. Alligator tails also help them when they swim, giving them extra swimming power.

Abilities

Mickey

Voice Mimicry

Through unknown methods, Mickey is able to mimic people’s voices and lure people towards his position.

Possession

Mickey was able to start his killing spree after a guy was shocked by electricity while watching Steamboat Willy. This could imply that Mickey is able to possess people’s minds once they are exposed to electricity (Debatable, See Before the Verdicts).

Teleportation

Mickey is shown to blatantly be able to teleport, seemingly anywhere. It’s unknown the max distance he’s able to teleport, but he’s been able to teleport to entirely different rooms whenever he felt in danger. However, if strobe lights are shown on him, he won’t be able to teleport.

Technology Manipulation

Mickey has some degree of technological manipulation. He is able to cause his voice to be heard on loudspeakers despite not being connected to them or anywhere near their controls, and he is also able to passively start erasing security camera footage and turn them off (seen above).

Bad CGI Gator

Alligator Physiology

Alligators are one of the most awesome animals in the world, they’re so fucking cool. They are able to swim in water, can hold their breath up to 24 hours, can smell blood up to 6 km away, can sense vibrations in water, can sneak up on prey, and they are also good at camouflage. These are not only useful in a combat setting, but they also help show how awesome alligators are. God, I fucking love alligators.

Electrical Absorption

The Gator can absorb electrical charges to increase his size and strength. From just one computer, he was able to grow to the size of an above average alligator and from a single bluetooth loudspeaker, he was able to grow to the size of a house. It is important to note however that he is only able to maintain his giant size for a few seconds before he’ll run out of power and shrink back to his original, harmless size. Meaning that he’s operating on a time limit and growing in size decreases how long he can remain giant.

Levitation

Due to being bad CGI, the Bad CGI Gator is capable of moving through the air. He is able to use this to glide down a roof, float outside a window, and also levitate above a guy to effectively eat him.

Weaknesses

Mickey

While Mickey is without a doubt formidable, he does have his flaws. Mickey’s biggest weakness are strobe lights keeping Mickey from teleporting, as well as causing some degree of mental distress. By keeping Mickey from teleporting, this leads into his other weakness, Mickey can be overpowered by groups of people. This strategy was utilized in the movie, allowing the teenagers to gang up on Mickey and nearly beat him into submission. Without his teleportation, Mickey effectively becomes a normal guy with a knife.

Bad CGI Gator

The BAD CGI Gator has some notable weaknesses. While electricity does make him grow more, it also decreases the amount of time he’s able to remain giant, his biggest size shrinking him to normal within seconds. The Bad CGI Gator also lacks any real combat experience and can be tricked by normal people. Alligators in general are also known for their weak eyesight.

Before the Verdicts

Wait, Mickey fought Winnie the Pooh?!?

So if you’ve been reading this blog, you’re probably confused about this fight between Mickey and Winnie the Pooh that we’re including. So while promoting the movie, the creators of Mousetrap made a short film with Mickey fighting a guy with a Winnie the Pooh. While they are meant to represent them, it isn’t the same Winnie the Pooh as the Blood and Honey movies. It is likely, however, that it is the same Mickey as The Mousetrap movies. Not only does he have the same costume, but this Mickey has the same personality and weapons as the normal Mickey. This is also supported with how

The fight is only canon

How does Mickey’s possession work?

So one of the most confusing parts of Mickey’s backstory is how he possessed Tim. In order to have possessed a body, Mickey had to have had Tim get electrocuted while watching Steamboat Willie. We interpret this as Mickey was possessing the dvd and was able to transfer his soul into Tim’s body when he was shocked. So in order for Mickey to possess someone, they have to be touching his current host while also being shocked.

Verdicts

Crimgon

This sure is the mu of all time lol. When I first heard of this one, it sounded insane. The fact that both gained their powers from being shocked is such a specific part of their backstory that could carry this entire mu alone for me. Also watching both films was surprisingly fun. The Mousetrap is actually a decent film that had great use of environment and tone, some nice self-aware moments that were humorous, and also Mickey was a fun killer. Bad CGI Gator was also a fun comedy that took full advantage of its concept. Overall, I’d recommend both movies for anyone who has a sense of humor and time to spare. Anyways, who wins?

Starting with stats, there’s nothing crazy really. Mickey isn’t really superhuman, he’s more likely at peak human level. He’s able to avoid someone hitting him with a hockey stick and the Bad CGI Gator is able to avoid a drunk teenager swinging a sword at him. They should also be approximately even in strength as well, since both are pretty normal. This means that the Gator should be decently stronger than Mickey, but not to the extent that he could one-shot. No one really has the advantage in the stats department.

Since stats are really a nonfactor, this mu basically comes down to their abilities and arsenal. Obviously Mickey has the advantage when it comes to his arsenal. Bad CGI Gator has access to his teeth and tail, but that’s not that impressive. The tail has been shown to be easily dodgeable and in order for the gator to use his teeth against Mickey, he has to be able to catch Mickey first and it takes a while for Bad CGI Gator to be able to mortally wound Mickey with them. Mickey, on the other hand, has access to several weapons. While most of them are standard weapons, the sword stands out. This sword was able to cleanly cut through a person’s neck, so I think Mickey would be able to cut through his enemy quicker than the Bad CGI Gator can tear him to pieces. Mickey also would be smart enough to try to stab the gator through the eye if he wasn’t able to cut through the gator’s skin. Due to this, I think that Mickey would have the advantage when it comes to arsenal. But what about abilities? Well at first glance, the Bad CGI Gator seems to have an advantage; they can fly, grow in size, and also swim through water. However, Mickey actually has the superior range of abilities, some even countering the gator’s abilities. Mickey’s teleportation is quicker than the gator’s levitation and allows him to travel to more places efficiently, making it a better mode of transportation between the two. Also the teleportation would allow Mickey to escape all of the Bad CGI Gator’s attacks. The gator’s attacks require time, he takes a while to rip off people’s limbs and it takes a while for him to swallow someone whole, all of these instances give Mickey ample time to escape via teleportation. Mickey can also take advantage of this ability to attack the gator when he can’t defend, such as teleporting on his back and attacking the reptile with his weapons where he can’t defend himself. The teleportation also allows Mickey to avoid Bad CGI Gator if he becomes giant, and given how the form only lasts a few seconds, Mickey definitely would be able to avoid him long enough until he shrinks down. It’s also worth noting that when the Bad CGI Gator is absorbing electricity, it covers his body, making it perfect for Mickey to possess him. Since Mickey requires physical contact via electricity to possess people, he could touch Bad CGI Gator while he’s growing and possess him. Mickey’s voice mimicry and technological manipulation is also useful as it can be used to trick the alligator. Mickey could teleport away and mimic someone’s face to lure the gator away. Mickey could also use his technological manipulation to hack into any nearby electronics to lure him as well.

Mickey is also the better strategist of the two, being able to formulate a plan to isolate and kill the teenagers, all while covering his own tracks. So he would definitely be smart enough to decide to avoid the Bad CGI Gator and try to play the long game in a fight with him, only taking potshots when the gator is least expecting it. This is also consistent with how Mickey killed his last victim in the movie, teleporting away when he was at a disadvantage and then waiting till her guard was down to teleport back and kill her when she was off guard. The gator is also very easily tricked during his movie, something that Mickey could easily take advantage of.

Overall there’s no real way for the Bad CGI Gator to win this fight. While they do have some neat abilities, Mickey’s powers were better for a battle of attrition and perfectly countered the alligator’s strategy

In my opinion, this makes Mickey the winner. That's all folks! (Yeah I know that’s not Disney, fuck you)

Bored Seba

Alright, where do I even begin? This matchup just came from my mind outta nowhere, and ngl, is kinda funny. And the blog itself was pretty fun. I really like researching both, and it was fun learning a lot about both characters in this matchup. Anyways, I'm here to tell you guys who I think wins this matchup.

First thing I wanna mention stats, while yes at first glance, you could say Bad Cgi Gator looks way superior stat wise, but in reality Gator isn't all that superior. Mickey does have a lot of advantages of his own, and while yes Gator does have strength and durability, Mickey has that speed advantage. At first it doesn't look like much, but it's pretty important since Mickey could dodge most of the attacks Gator is trying to hit Mickey with. Mickey also has another advantage that makes it harder for Gator to hit him, and that's teleportation, which Mickey can do really quickly, even if you could say Gator has similar speed which is debatable, it will still be hard for him to even hit Mickey.

Now that we are mentioning abilities, while Gator does have impressive abilities, like levitation, changing size etc, he does have a major problem: he can absorb technology to become stronger, but he can hit his limit while doing that, returning him to his normal state. And due to Mickey’s teleportation, which Gator shockingly has no counter for, Mickey would most likely outlast the Gator, or even a perfect opportunity to hit the fatal blow. There's also the possibility of Mickey being able to possess Gator, but that's more debatable. Even without Mickey possessing Gator, he would still have the better abilities in a fight like this, with more opportunities to hit Gator. You would assume Gator is the more dangerous of the two, but he isn't really that great of a fighter. He mostly uses his superior strength to beat and take down his targets, meanwhile Mickey has abilities to counter Gator strength, in the form of teleportation, has better weapons that could actually hurt Gator, is likely to use Gator’s weaknesses against him with his superior intelligence and his technology Manipulation which can arguably be used against Gator to make Gator reach his limit and turning Gator into a small Gator, it’s clear cut. Yeah this matchup is fun, but with the advantages listed, I do think the winner of this fight is Mickey.

Fenic.V

Why did I join this blog? That's an excellent question that I can’t even answer. I guess this MU sounded so goofy, so silly,  and so easy that I just couldn’t resist. So now, let's see which extremely low budgeted horror villain will come out on top! Starting with stats, these two aren't usually crazy. In terms of strength Mickey appears to just cap at average human level physically. He’s able to constantly kill others with weapons, though he blatantly is capable of being overpowered by several people. Now for CGI Gator, well he can very consistently bite onto and rip people's limbs off, granted this is rather slow attack but its still an impressive show of power that would scale to his durability as well. So CGI gator should generally be much stronger and tougher. Now for Speed, which is a bit of a different story. Mickey is able to dodge attacks from a hockey stick, which is a surprisingly decent reaction feat. Now for Gator, well his speed should be that of an average alligator, which is at their max is 35 mph, though this is their max sprinting speed, not their combat speed. The closest Gator has to a reaction feat is dodging a drunk person, which is hardly impressive. While Gator is technically faster in a race, Mickey has generally shown himself to be the far more agile one, dodging actual attacks, so he should have the combat speed advantage. So Gator is a bit tougher while Mickey is a bit quicker, but neither really have a massive advantage here.

Now onto the bigger debate, arsenal and abilities. Obviously, Mickey takes the arsenal factor due to the fact he actually has one. Over the movie he possesses a decent variety of weapons, mainly his knife and sword. Granted Gator’s claws and tail are still deadly, but they lack the range and overall utility that Mickey has. Mickey also has his audio lures, which are actually very conveniently useful here due to the fact Gator literally falls for an audio lure in the movie. This is a major advantage in sheer manipulation on Mickey’s part, and it's something he'd absolutely make use of in character, just like he did to his other victims. Now onto abilities, of which there are several factors to cover. First, both have frankly absurd ways of traveling around, with gators levitation and Mickey's teleportation. Gator taking flight may seem useful, but it's rather slow and easily predictable, like the drunk guy Gator ate could’ve easily just moved instead of sitting there. Mickey's teleportation on the other hand is a far superior ability and honestly might be his biggest advantage in this fight. For one, its way quicker than Gators movement options, which combined with Mickey already being more agile means he's gonna be just dancing around gator the entire time. Second, this gives Mickey an instant escape from Gators biggest win con, his jaws. While Gator is stronger, it takes him a little bit to actually remove people's limbs after biting them. This means that even if Mickey was bitten and locked in the jaws he could just teleport out to escape, which really screws over Gators chances of getting the kill. Now what about Gators electricity absorption, well that's a rather dubious win con here. It definitely something Gator could do given the various tech Mickey has, but would this actually help Gator here? You might be surprised that growing giant wouldn’t help Gator, to be fair it would absolutely give him the stat trinity, but remember, Gator almost immediately lost this power and turned into a regular Gator, which is basically a death sentence in this fight. Once again, Micky could just teleport away until Gator shrunk, then it's an easy kill. Also, Mickey does have yet another potential win con through his possession, which seemingly works by making physical contact while someone is being shocked, and hey wouldn’t you know it Gator surrounds himself in electricity while he absorbs, potentially meaning Mickey can just interrupt him and possess him then for another easy win.

Now onto tertiary factors, yeah Mickey takes this in spades. He’s unsurprisingly far more intelligent and experienced than an actual alligator. Gator has experience with killing drunk people, sure, but Mickeys gone up against actually competent people capable of fighting back. Mickey mainly fights by keeping his distance and manipulating his opponents, only striking when the time is right. This is almost the perfect strategy to use against Gator, who’s never shown any sign of planning or strategy at all. Gators are just a normal animal at the end of the day, which is undoubtedly a big weakness against such a clever opponent.

Overall, Mickey should take this fight in almost every scenario. Sure gator was a bit stronger and tougher, but Mickey has such an advantage in literally every other category it doesn't really matter. His agility and teleportation means that Gator can never catch or grab a hold of him. His weapons give him the range advantage, allowing him to strike and wear down Gator quite easily. He’s far smarter and can easily manipulate Gator into traps. And even in the scenario Gator uses his absorption powers, Micky can just outlast gator for like a minute before he shrinks or just possess him then and there, both being instant wins. While Gator was an absolute beast of an opponent, Mickey had the tools and tricks to put him down for good. The winner is Mickey.
